Shuraako participates in peace workshop in Bogota, Colombia

Building Peace in Somalia

Shuraako with its sister programs, OEF Research and PASO Colombia hosted a workshop entitled: The Private Sector’s Role in Creating and Supporting Peace, at Build Peace 2017, in Bogota, Colombia.  The role of the private sector in supporting peacebuilding initiatives is largely unrecognized in formal peace agreements. However, at Shuraako, we have both research and programmatic evidence that the private sector often plays a key role in supporting peace world-wide. The workshop showcased Shuraako and One Earth Future’s work on job creation and the private sector and peace in Somalia, Colombia and Kenya.
